What is a QR code? Static vs Dynamic

A QR Code is a 2D barcode of black/white modules storing URL/text/WiFi/vCard. Our free QR code generator creates static QR directly in your browser (no upload). Static is free forever. Dynamic stores a short id -> redirect (editable, needs server). We bump ECC to H when you add a 30% logo so scans still work. Static QR can store up to 2953 bytes, supports all 12 types here, and never expires — perfect for print.

Static
Free forever, payload in dots, not editable. Best for flyers, cards.
Dynamic
Short ID → redirect, editable, needs server. Coming soon.
Our wedge
Free SVG HD + logo, no paywall like TQRCG. Private.

How to create a QR code in 3 steps

  1. Choose type (URL/Text/WiFi/vCard...) and fill fields — payload builds live.
  2. Customize dot, eye, gradient & logo, pick a template.
  3. Download SVG/PNG 2048 or copy — 100% browser, no upload, works offline after load.
Tip: After download, test with 2 phones (iOS Camera + Android Lens) at 10cm and 50cm before printing 1000 copies.

Where to place your QR Code to improve scans?

Learn from TQRCG: context matters more than size. Put QR where the user has time and intent.

FAQ — QR code

Is QR code free with no watermark?

Yes — all QR are generated locally via qrcode lib, SVG/PNG free, no signup, no watermark. Verify in DevTools Network: zero requests while typing.

SVG vs PNG — which should I use?

SVG is vector for print (10cm+ posters) stays sharp. PNG 1024/2048 is for web/social. Both are free here, unlike the-qrcode-generator.com paywall.

Can I add a logo?

Yes — upload PNG/SVG, 15-30% size with white excavate border. ECC auto bumps to H for 30% tolerance. Test scan before printing.

How to create WiFi QR code?

Select WiFi → SSID + password + WPA/WEP/nopass → Download. Phones scan and join without typing. Escape ;,: automatically. Or tap “Detect Current WiFi” to auto-fill SSID on supported devices.

Can WiFi QR auto-detect my current network?

Browsers block SSID for privacy, but our “Detect Current WiFi” button tries the Network Information API and shows a one-tap guide to copy SSID from system WiFi settings on Windows/Mac/Android/iOS. No data leaves your device. See guide below.

Static vs dynamic QR?

Static encodes payload directly (free forever, not editable). Dynamic stores short id -> redirect (needs Workers KV, coming soon). We recommend static.
